Service Children’s Support Group

The Service Children’s Support Group (SCSG)

The Service Children’s Support Group (SCSG) is the RCET’s Advisory Group which meets 3 times a year.

The remit of the group is:

  • to provide advice on educational support for children and young people from Armed Forces families;
  • to act as a point of reference for the Scottish Education Programme and the RCET Practitioners’ Conference;
  • to assist in developing links with the Military;
  • to consider issues relevant to the education of children and young people from Armed Forces families.

Members of the group represent:

  • The RCET
  • Association of Directors of Education in Scotland (ADES)
  • Education Scotland
  • Enquire
  • Early Years
  • Primary and Secondary Schools
  • Independent Schools Sector
  • Further Education

Service Children’s Practitioner’s Group (SCPG)

The SCPG has been established to create a network of practitioners whose role it is to support youngsters from Armed Forces families.

The purpose of this group is to:

  • provide mutual support and learning from and for each other
  • share and develop good practice, resources and ideas

The group plans to meet 3 times per year and keep in touch regularly by e mail and via the North Yorkshire Service Pupils Champion website www.ServicePupilsChampion.co.uk
