DVD and Support Material
In 2012 the Royal Caledonian Education Trust funded the production of the film “Forces Kids—This is My Life”. This film shows children and young people speaking openly and honestly about their lives as part of Armed Forces families particularly when a family member is on deployment.
The film:-
- raises awareness of what Armed Forces Children and Young People may experience during deployment;
- promotes discussion and understanding of what Armed Forces Children and Young People may experience during deployment;
- provides a discussion tool for Armed Forces Children and Young People and for those whose role it is to support them;
- raises awareness of emotional well being during the deployment cycle;
- highlights the work and commitment of the RCET in supporting Armed Forces Children and Young People.
The educational context for the film in Scotland lies within the Mental and Emotional Wellbeing outcomes of Curriculum for Excellence - Health and Wellbeing.
