A recent literature review commissioned by the Royal Caledonian Education Trust (RCET) highlighted many unique challenges faced by children and young people from serving personnel, reservist and veteran families when it comes to education as well as mental health and wellbeing.
This literature review has called for an integrated, collaborative approach to supporting the educational wellbeing of Armed Forces children and made recommendations around training and awareness, resources and programmes, and further research and data collection in the form of an interactive webinar.
During this interactive webinar, report author Rowena Piers, will present the key findings and recommendations from the literature review. Laura Falconer (RCET Chief Executive) will reflect upon the recommendations in the context of the charity’s work, which supports children and young people from serving personnel, reservist and veteran families across Scotland. Attendees will then be invited to join breakout sessions where participants will be invited to discuss the report findings, share good practice, and consider next steps in taking forward the recommendations.
Who Should Consider Attending?
This webinar is open to anyone who is interested in, or involved in, supporting the educational and wider wellbeing of Armed Forces children and young people across best practice, policy, and research.
