It’s time for another review of our one of the books from our Education Programme’s Resource Boxes! This month’s review was written by 14-year-old Dougles on Michael Rosen’s Sad Book by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Quentin Blake.
“This book is about Michael Rosen’s struggles with sadness. It’s about how he feels, and what he does to cope with it.
This book can let the reader know that they are not alone about how they feel, and it lets them know it’s okay to feel sad. He explains that sadness doesn’t always have to have a reason behind it.
The text itself is very simple, so even young children can understand the important message that it conveys. The illustrations also help.
The message in this book is very important to know, so I would highly recommend it, especially to children from age 5 and upwards.”
