Book of the Month: February

It’s time for another review of our one of the books from our Education Programme’s Resource Boxes! This month’s review was written by 8-year-old Dylan on Giraffes Can’t Dance written by Giles Andreae and illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees.

“This book is about a Giraffe called Gerald who is jealous that all the other animals in the jungle can dance beautifully except him. This makes him sad.

Luckily for Gerald, he meets someone who shows him that he too has the ability to dance.

I think the main message from this story is that you can accomplish anything in life as long as you put your mind to it and really try - as long as it’s not jumping off the back of the sofa as that can lead to broken bones!

I would definitely recommend this book for younger readers probably between 2 to 5 years old. The animation is well drawn and colourful and the rhymes are fun.

I read this story to my younger sister and she loved it.”
